Would you like to develop your sport coaching skills with a world class team?
Here is an exciting opportunity to develop your athletic, sports coaching skills and acumen as well as be a part of the Dwain Chambers Performance Academy. This voluntary position is ideal for you, if you have a genuine passion for excellence in athletics and fitness. You will need to be able to lead by example by demonstrating skills, techniques and determination to the young people (aged from 7 to 16) who attend the academy.
The academy is led by Dwain Chambers, an Olympian and World champion, and you will be joining an elite team of coaches, all who have competed and coached at world class level. So as a member of the team, you will personally benefit from having access to their experience, skills and credentials - this makes this position such a unique development opportunity for you.
The academy is based at Lee Valley Athletics Centre (Meridian Way, Edmonton, London N9 0AR) and you will be involved in sessions that take place on: Tuesday and Thursday 18.00-19.00 and Saturday 11.30-12.30
To get the most from this experience you must be confident to work and inspire young people. You will need to be able to observe performance, take the initiative and communicate constructive feedback that will help members of the academy to be the best they can be. You will be required to be DBS checked, ideally have a sport qualification, and good knowledge of athletics and team sports such as football and rugby.
